Statement Trail is built around a single question: what happened to this specific sentence over time? No sprawling claim networks — just the paper trail of one statement.
Drop in a quote, a headline claim, or a transcript excerpt. Statement Trail treats it as the "origin" node and timestamps it to its earliest known source.
The system searches transcripts, articles, press releases, and social posts for anyone repeating, paraphrasing, or referencing the same underlying claim — in any wording.
Every restatement appears as a branch with a verbatim wording diff against its parent and a link to its source — so you see exactly what changed, and who changed it.

Trust & methodology
Statement Trail is a tracing tool, not an arbiter. Every node in a lineage is a claim about what a source says — and you can check that claim yourself.
Each restatement links to the transcript, article, or post it came from, with a timestamp or page reference — never a summary standing alone.
Changes are shown as exact text differences against the parent statement — additions, removals, and substitutions — with no paraphrase or editorial framing layered on top.
If a lineage node is mis-sourced or a transcript is corrected upstream, the fix is logged as a dated revision on that node — the earlier version stays visible, struck through, not deleted.
